The dinitrogenase reductase, also known as Fe protein or component II , is a key structural protein in the biological nitrogen fixation system. This protein, which is the gene product of nifH, is a homodimer of about 60 kDa, with a [4Fe-4S] clu ster bridged between its subunits. It is known to be involved in several aspects of biological nitrogen fixation.

The Dinitrogenase Reductase Database is an effort to provide a collection of information about this important protein for the colleagues in the biological nitrogen fixation community. The published data will be publicly accessible, however the a ccess to the unpublished data of Dr. Lawrence C. Davis' lab will be restricted by password.

Please kindly send your corrections, comments, and suggestions to Dr. Davis at ldavis@ksu.edu.
