As a first-generation college student, Paloma Roman wasn't sure what to expect from her Kansas State University experience. However, when she went through Wildcat Warm-Up as an incoming freshman, she immediately knew this was a community she'd treasure for the rest of her life. She also knew she wanted to pass that experience along to others and stay involved throughout her time at Kansas State.
Roman, a senior in athletic training from Garden City, Kansas, became not only a Wildcat Warm-Up ambassador, but also assumed many other student leadership roles. In addition to working for the Department of Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs, Roman was elected as a senator in the Student Governing Association and president of the HALO multicultural organization.
Like many Kansas State students, Roman has faced her share of challenges and made big decisions about her future. Among all the doors she's thrown open, she's managed to avoid one particular obstacle — any expected limits.
That's the Wildcat Way.
