Student Senate Weekly Update

Submitted by Blake Phillips

Good morning, Wildcats!

Student Senate met on Thursday, Feb. 17. At the meeting, Student Senate passed a commendation to President Linton welcoming him and his family to the university and approved new Student Senators. Additionally, Student Senate passed legislation clarifying the speaking privileges of Phase I interns of Student Senate. Student Senate also failed a piece of legislation removing speaking privileges from presidents of student organizations.

After voting concluded, Student Senate introduced two pieces of legislation giving speaking privileges to members of the judicial branch under certain circumstances. This legislation is scheduled to be voted upon at next week's Student Senate meeting.

Student Senate will reconvene at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, in Wildcat Chamber at the K-State Student Union. All are welcome to attend in person or can watch live on YouTube at the K-State SGA YouTube channel.
