Newly available collections and spaces in Hale Library

Submitted by Cailin Riley

The Virginia Carlson Family Reading Room — Room 140 — and Room 240 of Hale Library are now open to the public for study. Both spaces are on the northwest side of Hale Library in the historic Farrell Library portion of the building. The Carlson Reading Room is on the first floor and Room 240 is on the second floor. Both spaces include study space and plenty of natural light.

The Carlson Reading Room houses the juvenile literature and curriculum materials collection, while Room 240 houses current periodicals which were temporarily housed in the Math/Physics Library while Hale Library was closed. These items include scholarly publications, trade journals and popular periodicals such as newspapers and magazines. Patrons may browse and check out items in juvenile literature and curriculum materials; items in current periodicals may only be browsed.

Also, any books currently on shelves throughout Hale Library are available to be checked out. Patrons can also submit interlibrary loan requests. If you have any questions about whether or not an item is available at Hale Library, please contact the Library Help Desk at libhelp@k-state.edu.
