Students receive Live Ideas Spring Institute and Swogger/McNair Scholarships

Submitted by Camryn Eberhardy

Congratulations to the recent recipients of scholarships through Live Ideas Undergraduate Journal and the primary texts certificate program!

Live Ideas hosted the 2021 Spring Institute Feb. 24-26, from which several students received a $250 scholarship for their participation. The Live Ideas institutes are dedicated to cultivating creativity, intellectual growth and a community of scholars. The institutes help students develop and perfect their own original works, such as a poem, short story, essay, song and more. Sessions are mainly peer-to-peer discussion of ongoing ideas and projects with an aim to publish them in the Live Ideas Undergraduate Journal. Congratulations to the following students who earned a scholarship through the institute:

  • Cody Skahan
  • Makenna Eilert
  • Kaitlyn Kidd
  • Jillian Dunlay

Additionally, the primary texts program at K-State is now working with the McNair Scholars Program to bring primary texts program opportunities to more students. Congratulations to the most recent Swogger/McNair Scholarship recipients, who each received $1,000:

  • Kristin Chaney
  • Bailey Button
  • Thai Lopez
