SPARK program for reinstated students

Submitted by College of Arts and Sciences

The Second Opportunity for Academic Refocus at K-State, known as SPARK, program is for students who earn less than a 1.0 GPA during their first semester and are reinstated to K-State.

The SPARK program supports students to find academic success, stay on track for graduation, and develop the skills needed for college and career. The SPARK program includes enrollment in an Academic Refocus student success course with embedded academic coaching and co-curricular opportunities, intentional advising and a student-focused event on resilience.

To participate in SPARK, students must complete the following steps:

  • Students must complete the SPARK application by Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. The application opens Dec. 24.
  • Students are required to attend the SPARK Orientation on Thursday, Jan. 16. Students will enroll in courses at this time.

More information and requirements can be found on the SPARK program website. We hope you consider sharing this program with your students.
