Academic Achievement Center Learning Lab and tutoring

Submitted by Joshua Snodgrass

Do you need some tools to help you manage your time? Take notes? Prepare for exams? Then come over to the Academic Achievement Center Learning Lab on the first floor of Hale Library, which opens Monday, Sept. 23.

The Learning Lab is designed to help students with a wide variety of academic needs. It will provide walk-in one-on-one or group coaching sessions that target a specific need based on a quick assessment and then give the most appropriate tool to help lead to success. The Learning Lab will be open Monday through Friday for two hours each day. Hours will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; and 2:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Friday.

The Learning Lab is a quick, walk-in solution for students. It cuts down on the time between realizing there is an issue and getting an answer. No appointments are needed, and it is free.

Alongside the Learning Lab, tutoring will also be offered in the same space on the first floor of Hale Library. Tutoring will be more specific and subject-based assistance in comparison to the Learning Lab. Tutoring will be available in a drop-in format. Subjects that will be covered will be announced soon.

Tutoring is also available in Holtz Hall — both drop-in and appointments — College of Business Building, Kramer Dining Center and the Multicultural Student Office. Just like the Learning Lab, tutoring is an on-demand solution that will not require an appointment and is free. Learn more
