The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth, or SPICMACAY, K-State chapter, in collaboration with the Union Programming Council, invites the K-State and Manhattan communities to its upcoming community Indian folk dance event called "Garba and Dandiya Night" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in the Grand Ballroom of the the K-State Student Union.

"Garba and Dandiya Night" will be a community dance festival where everyone, from children to the elderly, may partake simple and easy to follow Indian folk dance steps. They will not be witnessing a performance but will be dancing on the floor with other guests. No training in dancing required. Volunteers will be present to help guide guests with the basic steps of Garba and Dandiya. Such dance gatherings are commonly held in major cities and attended by hundreds who travel from far places to attend them. This event is being conducted on campus for the first time in eight years.

This free family-friendly event is open to all K-State students, their families and the Manhattan community. Indian snacks will be provided while supplies last.
