Concert Band and University band concert tonight
The K-State Concert Band and University Band will perform their final concerts for the semester at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, in McCain Auditorium. Admission is free and the public is invited.
The Concert Band will begin the concert, performing works by Smith, Fillmore, Hazo and Mackey. The ensemble will be conducted by doctoral graduate students Allegra Fisher and Jay Koupal, as well as the director of bands Frank Tracz.
The University Band is primarily made up of music education majors performing on secondary instruments and are conducted by junior and senior education majors. This experience provides them with opportunities that will better prepare them for student teaching.
