Mortar Board Senior Honor Society seeking self-nominations for 2019-2020 class

Submitted by Cole Klinkhammer

Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society is currently accepting self-nominations for the 2019-2020 class. Mortar Board is looking for students who strive for the ideals of scholarship, leadership and service.

Over the course of a year, Mortar Board members do a multitude of projects that benefit students in the K-State community and many individuals in the greater Manhattan community. Mortar Board offers two major scholarships that are available for juniors each year, as well as helps coordinate and speak at the new student convocation in the fall. In the greater Manhattan area, Mortar Board hosts an event called "Reading is Leading." The event is designed to help create a fun and active learning environment to help young learners become more involved in reading and writing. Mortar Board also hosts many other service events, which directly benefit Manhattan.

In addition to volunteering in the community, members benefit from professional development and social opportunities which we host consistently over the year. If you believe you represent Mortar Board's ideals, please fill out the online self-nomination form. The deadline for nominations is 11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15.
