Submitted by Patrice Scott

Several team members from the College of Education's Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation presented at the American Evaluation Association's 2018 National Evaluation Conference, Oct. 31-Nov. 2, in Cleveland. The conference theme was "Speaking Truth to Power" and focused on the responsibilities, contexts and consequences for evaluators in their professional work.

The OEIE team delivered three presentations aligned with the conference theme:

  • Valerie York, senior evaluator, and Wendi Stark, evaluation assistant, presented "Speaking Program Participants' Truth Using Culturally Responsive Evaluation Practices" as a 45-minute skill-building workshop.
  • LeAnn Brosius and Adam Cless, evaluation assistants, presented "Utilizing Social Media Analytics to Demonstrate Program Impact" as a 45-minute demonstration.
  • Allison Teeter, evaluator, presented "The Power of Evaluation Capacity Building and Web-based Data Management in Extension" as a 60-minute demonstration.

The Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation was established by the College of Education in 2000 and is a full-service evaluation center that provides services for a broad range of clientele in educational institutions, governmental agencies and other organizations.
