Submitted by Blakely Bunning

Sally Bailey, director of the drama therapy program and professor of theatre with the Kansas State University School of Music, Theatre, & Dance, has won the Teaching Excellence Award from the North American Drama Therapy Association.

The ceremony was Friday, Oct. 26, in Albany, New York. The Teaching Excellence Award is given to an association member in recognition of outstanding dedication to education in the field of drama therapy through teaching and mentorship. Awards are presented annually at the North American Drama Therapy Association conference. Recipients are chosen by the association's board from a list of candidates nominated by association members, which includes students and colleagues. A nominee must be an association member to be considered for an award.

K-State's theatre program is the only theatre program in the state of Kansas accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre. The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance is a part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Visit k-state.edu/mtd to learn more about the MTD at K-State.
