K-State Student Ambassador applications due Sept. 29
The K-State Alumni Association is accepting applications for the 2017 K-State Student Ambassadors. The ambassador program began in 1977 as a way to involve student representatives at alumni events. Apply today at k-state.com/StudentAmbassadors. The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29.
Each year a male and a female student are elected to spend the year attending alumni and campus activities, and speaking to alumni, friends, current and prospective students. The ambassadors serve a one-year term, and each receives a $1,500 scholarship, clothing from Borck Bros., and the official K-State ring from the K-State Alumni Association. Ambassadors are elected by the student body at homecoming each year and serve until new ambassadors are elected.
The K-State Student Ambassadors' duties include the following:
-
Visit with prospective students and alumni at K-State Alumni Association events throughout the state of Kansas.
The ambassador should be prepared to give a short presentation about current student life at K-State at any time during their tenure.
-
Attending Student Alumni Board and Homecoming Student Committee meetings and activities.
-
K-State Alumni Association programming on campus such as reunions, homecoming and other special events.
- Assist the president's office as needed.
