Get ready to groove with Union Program Council, or UPC, at the seventh annual "Dancing with the K-State Stars: Love is in the Air." The competition pairs K-State "stars" with dance "professionals" in a dance-off for the coveted mirror ball trophy.

The dance off begins at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 in McCain Auditorium. Tickets to the dance competition are free and can be picked up at the McCain box office or by calling 785-532-6428.

The judging table for the seventh season consists of Ben Hopper, director of Greek Affairs and former "Dancing with the K-State Stars" star; David Ollington, K-State dance department professor; and Donita Whitney-Bammerlin, instructor and academic program coordinator in the College of Business Administration.

K-State dance couples spend several hours choreographing, learning and perfecting their two-minute routines. The audience will see performances by K-State students and faculty ranging from the merangue to country swing, from East Coast swing and salsa to the waltz and West Coast swing.

The cast of this season's event are Michael Shode, Black Student Union vice president; Sam Edwards, Student Alumni Board member; Abby Alsop, 2014 Miss K-State competition winner; Reagan Kays, student body president; Nathan Laudan, K-State student ambassador; and Becky Brady, Union Governing Board vice president. The professionals include Alexis Nelson, Grace Pierson, Michelle Williams, Ashlenn Wellbrock, Carolyn Fitzgibbons and Kolton Smith.
