Architecture, Engineering and Construction Lecture Series today

The first presentation of the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Lecture Series will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the K-State Student Union's Little Theatre. The series is sponsored by the architectural engineering and construction science department in the College of Engineering and architecture department in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design.

David Kaneda, with Integral Group from San Jose, California, will present "To Zero and Beyond — The Brave New World of Positive Energy."

Kaneda's experience includes more than three decades working in the building industry in North America and Europe. He has been the electrical engineering principal for numerous LEED platinum, AIA COTE Top 10 and net zero energy buildings. His break though IDeAs Z Squared Office was the first net zero energy commercial office in the United States. He is a professional engineer, a fellow in the American Institute of Architects and a LEED AP. He has a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Penn State and an MBA from the London Business School. Kaneda's specialties include net zero energy building design, sustainable electrical engineering, lighting and daylighting design.
