Free classes through UFM Community Learning Center can help get your degree on track

Submitted by Rosanna Vail

Kansas State University Global Campus is offering two free classes through UFM Community Learning Center about K-State's flexible course options and resources to help adult students complete their degree.

Both classes will be in the UFM Community Learning Center Conference Room at 1221 Thurston St.

K-State Admissions Process: Get On Track To Your Degree is from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 2. Individuals will learn about the steps needed to apply, order transcripts and navigate through the K-State admissions process.

K-State Financial Aid Demystified is from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 6. Participants will learn how to get started with the financial aid process, scholarships, the GI Bill and other financial aid topics.

Jo Maseberg-Tomlinson and Ron Jackson, program coordinators at K-State Global Campus, will lead the classes, which were developed in response to growing interest about the On Track program for degree completion. On Track helps adult students utilize the university's course options that best fit their busy schedule so they can finish their degree.

"After our many On Track informational sessions this spring, we polled participants about what would be helpful follow-up topics for us to provide, and they said they could really use both admissions and financial aid information," Maseberg-Tomlinson said. "As we talked about where to host the sessions so they're convenient for community and campus participants, UFM Community Learning Center seemed like a natural choice, especially since these are information sessions provided for no cost."

Enroll for classes through UFM Community Learning Center, or contact Ron Jackson, rdj7@k-state.edu, or Jo Maseberg-Tomlinson, jam4545@k-state.edu, for more information. View all upcoming events on the On Track website
