Four finalists to interview for dean of the College of Engineering

Four finalists have been identified to participate in campus interviews for the position of dean of the College of Engineering at K-State.
They are: N.K. Anand, executive associate dean of engineering at Texas A&M University; Darren Dawson, chair of electrical and computer engineering at Clemson University; Ramanan Krishnamoorti, chief energy officer at the University of Houston; and Mary Rezac, director of the Center for Sustainable Research at Kansas State University.
"The search committee, working with a search firm, has identified quality candidates and believes these candidates in particular stood out as having the necessary qualifications and experience for this key position at K-State," said Peter Dorhout, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and search committee chair. “The pool was highly competitive, and we all look forward to learning more about each of these candidates when they visit our campus and meet with faculty, students, and staff.”
April Mason, provost and senior vice president, said she is eager to hire a new dean of the college who will provide the leadership for a college with outstanding research facilities and faculty, dedicated students and staff, committed alumni and friends, and nationally-recognized centers of excellence. “We are excited about this pool of candidates, one of whom will strategically lead the college to produce the next generation of engineers for K-State and Kansas in response to the University Engineering Initiative Act and to advance the goals of K-State 2025.”
The schedule of candidates will be:
Dawson: Dec. 1-3
Rezac: Dec. 2-4
Krishnamoorti: Dec. 10-12
Anand: Dec. 11-13
Each candidate will participate in a forum scheduled from 1:30-3 p.m. on Dec. 2, 3, 11, and 12 in Fiedler Auditorium. For those unable to attend in person, the presentations will be streamed live and archived for viewing later.
