Submitted by Division of Information Technology
Following a national search, Bud Tillman has been appointed assistant vice president and deputy chief information officer for enterprise systems, effective Aug. 5.
In his new role, Tillman will work closely with Thomas Bunton, associate vice president and chief information officer, to develop and lead the division of information technology's strategy and management of enterprise applications. He will oversee the enterprise applications' operational and future-state aspects, including maintenance, patching and upgrades and ensuring business continuity. Tillman will also develop and implement current and future-state roadmaps for enterprise applications and data integration platforms, ensuring that policies and procedures support the strategic direction and security of the environment.
"Bud has valuable experience in maintaining, upgrading, and implementing enterprise resource planning environments, including Peoplesoft, Banner, and Workday," Bunton said. "He will use his skills and experience in strategic planning, enterprise system implementation and operational excellence to support the university's strategic direction."
Tillman will join K-State from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he serves as the deputy chief information officer and director of enterprise applications and business engagement. He led the university's migration of its technical workstreams — data conversion, integrations and reporting — to Workday's Human Capital Management, Financial Management and Student modules.
Previously, Tillman served as associate director of enterprise operations and data conversion lead at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, overseeing enterprise systems' design, implementation, integration, support and optimization.
Tillman holds a master's degree in business information systems from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a graduate certificate in business analytics and a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minor in mathematics.
