Learn more about K-State's Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative Grant

Submitted by Cailin Wycoff

K-State instructors are invited to attend upcoming information sessions about the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative Grant. Attendees will learn more about the program and resources available to support the adoption or creation of open educational resources.

The submission deadline to apply for the spring 2024 round of the grant is April 9. The Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative provides grants between $2,000-$10,000 for instructors to adopt or create open educational resources for their classrooms. The initiative aims to make education more affordable for K-State students; the program has saved students more than $10 million since 2016.

All grant applicants are highly encouraged to attend one of the upcoming general information sessions:

  • April 16: Noon to 1 p.m. in Room 111 of Hale Library and via Zoom.
  • April 24: 4-5 p.m. in Room 111 of Hale Library and via Zoom.

More information can be found on the Libraries event webpage.

If you are interested in learning more about the Open/Alternative Initiative and are unable to attend either of these sessions, please contact our staff at oati@k-state.edu to schedule a consultation.
