Register for February's 'Water Wednesday' event

Submitted by Melissa Harvey

The Kansas Water Institute and Hale Library will co-host a second "Water Wednesday" luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 14. This networking event will focus on water quantity issues and how to adapt to a water-limited future.

"Our January 'Water Wednesday' was a great start for creating interdisciplinary conversations about water," said Susan Metzger, director of the Kansas Water Institute. "The number of participants and the variety of disciplines represented really demonstrate the widespread interest in water research, and we're looking forward to expanding on that in our next session."

"Water Wednesday" events bring together any who are interested in the topic of water. Faculty and staff from all colleges and departments are invited to attend. Activities can include short presentations on research topics, networking with colleagues, guided activities to investigate funding opportunities and more. Lunch will be provided.

"K-State has an amazing depth of expertise about water resources, and these monthly 'Water Wednesdays' will give us an opportunity to meaningfully engage with others who might not be in our usual professional circle," said Metzger.

Those interested in attending can RSVP through this link. Space will be limited to the first 60 registrants. The event will be held in Hale Library, Room 181.

The Kansas Water Institute plans to offer these events each month in an effort to facilitate impactful communication between water resource professionals and to disseminate research results. For more information about the Kansas Water Institute or "Water Wednesdays," contact water@k-state.edu.
