Newly hired faculty members invited to join New Faculty Institute

Submitted by Andie Faber

Join the New Faculty Institute for its first event of the spring 2024 semester, Mocktail Happy Hour, from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at JP's Union Station. This is an informal, come-and-go event.

Signature mocktails and light refreshments will be provided. For those of you not celebrating Dry January, JP's bar will be open with libations for purchase. You are encouraged to invite a colleague from your department as a plus-one guest. Use this as an opportunity to get to know a veteran K-State colleague and mingle with faculty from other departments across campus.

RSVP by noon Monday, Jan. 29.

New faculty who are in their first, second or third year at K-State are invited to join the New Faculty Institute.
The New Faculty Institute is a universitywide program hosted by the Teaching and Learning Center to introduce newly hired faculty to K-State's missions of teaching, research and service. The institute provides networking and professional development opportunities to assist new faculty in becoming successful educators and researchers at K-State.

The New Faculty Institute will help participants:

  • Make contact, establish relationships and initiate a professional network with peers and established faculty.
  • Become knowledgeable about K-State.
  • Develop a sense of belonging to the K-State community.
  • Take steps toward successful involvement in K-State's missions of teaching, research and service.
  • Become proactive participants in a lifelong professional development process.

To be added to the New Faculty Institute listserv and to receive timely updates and a biweekly newsletter with pertinent information about campus, please email Andie Faber at afaber@k-state.edu. See the full spring semester schedule at the New Faculty Institute website.
