Show your purple at commencement

Submitted by Commencement Committee

Starting in fall 2023, graduates will have the option to show their purple pride at commencement.

The regalia students and faculty wear at the commencement ceremony is rich in tradition — with each tassel/hood color or cap and gown type, an individual's educational accomplishments are visible.

Announced by President Richard Linton during the State of the University, purple will be incorporated into commencement regalia worn by graduates by introducing tassel options in purple and white and undergraduate gowns in purple. Tassels that correspond to degree type will continue to be offered.

Students graduating in fall 2023 will be able to purchase all the appropriate regalia for commencement by attending the GradExpo on Oct. 5, visiting the K-State bookstore in Manhattan or Salina, or ordering online for delivery. For more information about regalia, please visit the commencement webpage.
