Advise a K-State student organization

Submitted by Center for Student Involvement

Advisors provide important mentoring to students to support the health, safety and success of recognized student organizations, or RSOs. As of Aug. 1, all RSOs are required to have a faculty or staff advisor to maintain recognition with the university.

Affiliated RSO advisors can negotiate expectations, including time commitment and meeting attendance, with student organizations prior to agreeing to serve as their advisors. Service as an advisor to an Affiliated RSO is entirely voluntary, and you may elect to withdraw your service at any time. Training and support is provided by the Center for Student Involvement. Learn more about the RSO advisor role and responsibilities on the website

Please consider volunteering your time to support student belonging and development today. Several returning student organizations are facing an important deadline on Oct. 1 and are excited to connect with you. View a list of groups currently seeking advisors. You may contact these groups directly or complete the Advisor Interest Form.

Contact the Center for Student Involvement at 785-532-6541 or studentinvolvement@k-state.edu with questions.
