Reception to honor Effie Swanson's service to K-State
A come-and-go reception honoring Effie Swanson’s service to K-State will be from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, in the Ice Conference Room, 1139 Engineering Hall.
After 10 years of service to K-State, Swanson has accepted a new position as associate director of research development at the University of Chicago in the Division of the Social Sciences. While at K-State, Effie served in several capacities, including staff assistant for engineering research and graduate programs, technical editor for the computer science department, senior grants and contracts administrator for the central office of PreAward Services, and most recently as the program/project administrator for the Cognitive and Neurobiological Approaches to Plasticity Center.
As Swanson embarks on the next chapter of her career, she leaves a legacy of excellence, accuracy and generosity in offering her research administration acumen to principal investigators, junior faculty and colleagues alike.
