Submitted by Ashley A. Schiffer

As a reminder, the Teaching and Learning Center seeks two faculty members to serve as New Faculty Institute coordinator and a faculty mentoring coordinator. Applications are due by Monday, July 17.

The New Faculty Institute coordinator creates and leads events, often through the recruitment of university partners, that help new faculty members feel they belong at K-State, establish personal and professional networks, learn about K-State and develop foundations for their success at K-State. The New Faculty Institute is a universitywide program that introduces newly hired faculty to K-State's missions of teaching, research and service and facilitates their early success at K-State.

The New Faculty Institute coordinator participates in the planning for and presentations at New Faculty Orientation before the start of the fall semester and plans and leads monthly events or conversations throughout the fall and spring semesters. The selected faculty coordinator serves two academic years, beginning Aug. 14 and extending through the end of the 2024-2025 academic year. For the fall 2023 semester, the new coordinator will work alongside Tamara Bauer, the current coordinator, and will assume the position fully for the spring 2024 semester.

The position carries a stipend of $5,000 per academic year. Applicants should submit their CV and a cover letter describing their interest in the position, their relevant qualifications and their vision for New Faculty Institute to Interim Associate Provost Tanya González by Monday, July 17.
