Faculty work on display in Chang Gallery

Submitted by Erinn Barcomb-Peterson

Amid lectures, critiques and class projects, it's easy to forget that many of the faculty in the College of Architecture, Planning and Design are artists in their own right.

The 18th annual APDesign Faculty Show, going on now through Friday, March 25, at the Chang Gallery in Seaton Hall, provides a forum for professors to showcase their creative talents outside a classroom setting. The work spans a variety of media, including photography, glass jewelry, watercolors, design work, computer renderings, models and sketches.

The Chang Gallery is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is free of charge.

First organized in 1993 by Professor Fayez Husseini, the Faculty Show also gives students an insight into faculty members' creative processes and world views.

Participating faculty include:

Blake Belanger, assistant professor of landscape architecture and regional and community planning; Robert Condia, professor of architecture; Tim de Noble, dean of the college and professor of architecture; Chris Fein, assistant professor of architecture; Donna Fullmer, assistant professor of interior architecture and product design; Allan Hastings, professor of interior architecture and product design; Jon Hunt, assistant professor of landscape architecture and regional and community planning; Vibhavari Jani, associate professor of interior architecture and product design; James Jones, professor of architecture; Matthew Knox, associate professor  and associate head of department of architecture; Katrina Lewis, assistant professor of interior architecture and product design; Michael McGlynn, assistant professor of architecture; Peter Magyar, professor and head of the department of architecture; Torgeir Norheim, associate professor of architecture; David Sachs, professor of architecture; Rebecca Stark, academic adviser; and Don Watts, professor of architecture.
