Memorial Stadium field and track closed for the summer
The Memorial Stadium field and track will be closed this summer. Starting Monday, June 10, the existing turf and track surfacing will be removed and replaced with new artificial turf and track surfacing.
The project is expected to be completed the first week of August. No access will be permitted on the track or field during construction. The original surfacing was installed in 2002 and expected to last seven years, so it has far exceeded its life expectency. This project is funded with city and university funds.
