Third-party vendor notifies university of cybersecurity incident

Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

Kansas State University was recently informed that AudienceView, the external vendor for ticketing sales for McCain Auditorium and the K-State School of Music, Theater, and Dance, is experiencing an outage because of a cybersecurity event. The situation continues to develop, and the university is in contact with the vendor to understand the issue.

K-State takes customer data safety seriously and has invested in extra protections to keep data safe. The university is working to confirm if personal information was accessed. At this time, there is no indication that credit card information was compromised.

If AudienceView determines that sensitive information was compromised, they have stated notifications will be e-mailed to individuals affected. As a best practice, if you have purchased tickets for these entities, please review your credit card statements for unauthorized purchases.

Tickets for "R.E.S.P.E.C.T." at McCain Auditorium on March 2 can be purchased in person or via phone. Additional inquiries can be sent to mccain@k-state.edu. Tickets for upcoming events for K-State's School of Music, Theatre, and Dance can be purchased in person approximately one hour before the start of the show or by contacting theater@k-state.edu.
