Building back a culture of student engagement on campus with OrgCentral

Submitted by Center for Student Involvement

The Center for Student Involvement shares two initiatives that will be essential for driving student engagement this academic year: OrgCentral and Cat Trax.

OrgCentral is K-State's online student engagement and student organization management platform. All K-State students, faculty and staff can access this technology by visiting orgcentral.k-state.edu and logging in with their K-State eID. Students can use this platform to explore upcoming events, engage in student organizations and connect with other students who share similar interests. All registered student organizations have a group page in the system to manage their organizational operations.

New this year — the OrgCentral mobile app is here! Students can now access all of the features of OrgCentral right at their fingertips. The mobile app will be especially useful for tracking student participation at OrgCentral-related events, as they can use the app's QR code scanner to check in.

Also new this year, the Center for Student Involvement has partnered with the Office of Recruitment and Admissions to encourage all incoming students to download the OrgCentral app to help them navigate through New Student Orientation and Week of Welcome. Each of these events has its own special event hub set up in OrgCentral to host all event information, including schedules and important announcements.

Cat Trax is a new student engagement program recently launched by the Center for Student Involvement, targeted toward first-year students. We know that student engagement on campus has decreased during the pandemic. Cat Trax is designed to address this issue, and others, by providing students with a guide to experiences that will help them make the most out of their time at K-State.

Accessible through OrgCentral, students can earn points, prizes and more by doing things that help them get involved, stay healthy, broaden their horizons and prepare for their future careers.
