Undergraduate Mathematics Seminar: 'An Introduction to Actuarial Science and Profession'
Kiel Corkran of the Internal Revenue Service will present the next Undergraduate Mathematics Seminar, "An Introduction to Actuarial Science and Profession," from 1:30-2:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, in 122 Cardwell Hall.
Corkran will talk about what type of mathematical models you are going to see as an actuary. Corkran also will go over how to become one if you are looking for a career after K-State or you are interested in a real-world application of integration/differentiation outside a college lecture hall.
Corkran is an alumnus from the K-State math department from 2014. Currently, he works at the IRS on figuring proper and accurate tax collection.
