Weapons policy updated

Submitted by Cindy Bontrager

The university has recently updated its weapons policy PPM 3770 to reflect the statutory changes that were passed after the 2021 Kansas Legislature amended the Personal and Family Protection Act, K.S.A. 75-7c01, which made it legal for appropriately licensed individuals between the age of 18 and 21 to conceal carry effective July 1.

The university updated the section of policy regarding storing weapons in on-campus housing and the weapons policy training. The Kansas Board of Regents at its June meeting updated its weapons policy.

Please direct any questions regarding the university’s weapons policy to Campus Police at 785-532-6412.
