This session will address the importance of employees seeing beyond the race of their colleagues and understanding characteristics most notably associated with a positive and productive work environment. This session will help participants understand their own characteristics, their colleagues' characteristics, and how this knowledge can help make our work environment better in a variety of ways.

This session will help participants:

  • Explore diversity in action.
  • Understanding of identity and intersectionality.
  • Gain an awareness of cultural norms and communication strategies for a diverse workplace.

You must be a current supervisor of USS or unclassified professionals to attend this session. This session is offered in conjunction with the K-State Supervisory Foundations Pillar I: Establishing Your Supervisory Foundation certificate program, therefore, seating is limited.
