Lafene Health Center offers COVID-19 testing at no charge for students, faculty and staff

Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

Lafene Health Center is providing access to symptomatic and asymptomatic COVID-19 testing at no charge to K-State students, faculty and staff. The COVID-19 test must be ordered by a licensed medical provider.

The access to testing is being covered by funding from the Strengthening People and Revitalizing Kansas, or SPARK, program. The no-charge testing is available through the fall semester or until the funds used to support this effort are exhausted.

Testing is an important method to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and it is the most effective way to know your COVID-19 status.

Students, faculty or staff at the Manhattan campus should call Lafene Health Center at 785-532-6544 or their local health care providers to determine if testing is needed. As long as the test occurs at Lafene Health Center, students, faculty and staff will not be charged regardless of their insurance status. In the future, testing services may be available at the Polytechnic campus.

The testing will be conducted at Lafene Health Center and will be a self-administered nasal swab test. Watch a video that shows what the testing process is like at Lafene Health Center

Other health care providers or community testing centers may offer free testing. Individuals may also find that their health insurance will cover testing for symptomatic COVID-19 testing. Learn more about free testing opportunities in Riley County.
