Save the date, call for presentation proposals for Kansas OER Conference

Submitted by Communications and Marketing

K-State faculty and staff are invited to save the date for To the Stars with OER, which will take place Friday, Sept. 18, at Fort Hays State University, or online.

The systemwide conference is for higher education faculty and staff members who are interested in Open Educational Resources, or OER. Sessions will be available for individuals with all levels of OER experience from novice to expert.

Registration opens Wednesday, July 1. The cost is $60 per person — $85 starting Sept. 1. If the need arises, the conference will be moved online and will be free of charge.

Call for presentation proposals:
Share your OER expertise, best practices and success stories by being a conference presenter. Specifically, presentations that align with the following tracks are requested: introduction to OERs, practices and application, and instructional support and advocacy. Submit your proposal by July 15.

Nominate a colleague to be a 2020 OER Champion:
Two 2020 OER Champions will be selected — one from a four-year institution and one from either a two-year or technical college. Nominate a colleague by completing the nomination form by Aug. 14.
