Submitted by Thom Jackson

Paul Shepheard

Paul Shepheard, architect and author, will present "Back to the Present" as part of the 2020 Victor L. Regnier Distinguished International Lecture for the College of Architecture, Planning & Design. The lecture will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 2, in Regnier Forum at Regnier Hall on the K-State Manhattan campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Shepheard is a writer living in London. He is qualified as an architect but since the publication of "What is Architecture" by the MIT Press in 1994, he has gradually shifted the emphasis of his activities to writing and lecturing. Shepheard has two additional books with the MIT Press, "The Cultivated Wilderness" about landscape, 1997; and "Artificial Love" about architecture and machines, 2003. "How To Like Everything," a utopia, was published by Zero Books in July 2013. "Buildings: Between Living Time and Rocky Space" was published by CIRCA Press in October 2016. He has taught at the Architectural Association in London, the University of Texas, Austin, the Academie van Bouwkunst in Amsterdam and Artesis, Antwerp.

The lecture was established in 2013 by the children of Victor L. Regnier to annually host a lecturer who is a distinguished architect with an active international practice.
