Telva Swenson began working at the K-State Student Union as a receipts cashier in September 1989. At that time, the Union business office was in the current Caribou Coffee location. As a full-time cashier, Swenson handled cash, credit card receipts and register reports for the Union Foodservice, the Union Bookstore and all other Union departments.

Swenson was promoted to vault cashier in 1996. Since 2002, she has continued her duties in a part-time capacity.

From her first office in a closet, to online ordering and increased credit card use, Swenson has seen many changes is her 23 years of service.

“Through it all, I really enjoyed the sense of accomplishment and completion at the end of each day,” Swenson said.

The Union will be hosting a reception honoring Swenson from 10 a.m to noon Friday, Dec. 7, at the Cat's Pause Lounge. Please join us in thanking her for her 23 years of service to Kansas State University.
