National Strategic Selling Institute hosting Spring 2020 Sales Week

Submitted by Dana Parker

Sales Career Fair

The National Strategic Selling Institute will host the Spring 2020 Sales Week the week of Feb. 24.

Offered every semester, students are given the opportunity to interact with companies that are corporate partners of the program and build skills to further enhance their professional development.

Events are open to all students at the university, specifically those students that have an interest in sales or want to pursue a career in sales. All events will take place at the College of Business Building.

Multiple opportunities will be available for students to participate in Sales Week activities starting on Monday, Feb. 24. In the afternoon, there will be a Recruiter Panel. During this panel discussion, recruiters will help students gain insights on sales careers across multiple industries. This will provide students with the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of what type of sales role is relevant in each industry. The panel will be from 4-5 p.m. in 1092 Business Building. The day will conclude with a Corporate Partner Networking Event from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Business Building atrium. With more than 20 companies in attendance, students will be able to network and learn more about companies interested in hiring talented students. The dress for both events is business casual.

The Sales Career Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the Business Building atrium. More than 25 companies are participating, so there will be numerous opportunities for full-time positions and internships for students with an interest in sales. The dress for the event is business professional and students need to make sure to bring their resumes.

"We are excited to offer students several great opportunities for professional development," said Dawn Deeter, director of the National Strategic Selling Institute. "The recruiter panel will help students choose the best career path, and the networking event provides students with a great opportunity to start building their professional network. And the companies attending this spring's career fair will make it the best one to date

The National Strategic Selling Institute will host a Fall 2020 Sales Week the week of Sept. 14.

The National Strategic Selling Institute is housed in the College of Business Administration, which has been named one of the top sales programs in the country for eight straight years by the Sales Education Foundation. In fall 2018, Kansas State became just the 19th university in the U.S. to offer a major in sales. Students can also earn a certificate in professional strategic selling, which is open to all majors at the university. The professional strategic selling program introduces students to the fundamentals of sales and through the innovative curriculum and sales labs allows students to develop the skills needed to be successful.
