Outstanding leadership: A comparison of charismatic, ideological and pragmatic leaders

Michael Mumford

The Center for Character-based Leadership and the College of Business Administration at Kansas State University present Michael Mumford of the University of Oklahoma. Mumford will present a lecture about different types of leadership.

Mumford's lecture, "Outstanding Leadership: A Comparison for Charismatic, Ideological and Pragmatic Leaders, " will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 1, in the Town Hall in the Leadership Studies building.

Mumford is the George Lynn Cross distinguished research professor of psychology at the University of Oklahoma. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Georgia in 1983 in industrial and organizational psychology and psychometrics. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the American Psychological Society. He has written more than 270 articles on creativity, innovation, planning, leadership and ethics and is the past senior editor of The Leadership Quarterly journal. He is a recipient of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology’s M. Scott Myers award for applied research in the workplace.
