Pickering performs in England and Finland
David Pickering, associate professor of music, performed a series of seven half-hour organ recitals in London, England, and Espoo, Finland, during a two-week European residency, April 30-May 11.
These recitals, performed in London's Hyde Park Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Espoo's Tapiola Lutheran Church, consisted of organ music composed by Johann Sebastian Bach, Dieterich Buxtehude, Daniel E. Gawthrop, Joseph Haydn, Benedetto Marcello, Pickering and George Thalben-Ball.
Pickering also taught two group organ classes for beginning organists and visited with and observed the teaching of leading British organ pedagogue Anne Marsden Thomas.
