HealthQuest rewards credit earning periods for 2017 and 2018

Submitted by Human Capital Services - Benefits

In 2016, a decision was made by the State Employee Health Plan and State of Kansas Health Care Commission to align the 2017 HealthQuest Rewards program to the 2017 calendar year. The earnings period for HealthQuest rewards for the 2017 health insurance premium discount ends Nov. 15. Credits will be available for the 2018 health insurance premium discount starting Jan. 1, 2017.

This means that credits cannot be earned from Nov. 16 through Dec. 31 for individuals enrolled in Plan A or Plan C. Any annual preventive examinations from Nov. 16, 2016 through Dec. 31, 2016 will not count toward earning credits for the 2018 premium discount.

The decision also applies to Plan C-enrolled employees for 2017 who wish to earn the additional employer funding for the Health Savings Account, HSA, or Health Reimbursement Account, HRA. Any activities to earn additional employer funding for the HSA or HRA for 2017 must be completed after Jan. 1, 2017.

Employees are encouraged to reschedule any annual preventive exams for Jan. 1, 2017 or later if wanting to apply the examination to the credits for their 2018 health insurance premium discount. Even if the appointment cannot be applied to the premium discount, employees and dependents covered by Plan A or Plan C are still entitled to one annual preventive exam each calendar year.

There is still time to earn the 30 HealthQuest credits to receive a $10 per pay period discount for Health Insurance for 2017. The earnings period for the 2017 discount is Nov. 16, 2015 through Nov. 15, 2016.

Please visit the State Employee Health Plan website for ways to earn credits and the Kansas HealthQuest website to log into the portal and log your credits.
