PreAward Services updates contract negotiating assignments

Submitted by Sarah Hancock

PreAward Services contract negotiators help researchers by ensuring that the results of sponsored projects can be published by the university and used in the classroom for educational purposes. Their main role is to ensure that sponsored project agreements, or funded agreements, and zero-dollar agreements — such as confidentiality agreements and material transfer agreements — contain terms and conditions that are compliant with university policies and procedures such as those governing intellectual property ownership. Negotiators also verify that agreements comply with state of Kansas statutes and regulations.

Upcoming staff changes have necessitated updating contract negotiation assignments. Please note the assignments listed below and on the PreAward Services staff page.

You're also welcome to reach out to the contract negotiator assigned to your unit directly for specific funded agreement and zero dollar agreement needs or questions that you may have prior to engaging with a potential sponsor.
