Tee off to support K-State cancer research April 2

Submitted by Julie Fosberg

Golfers can help Kansas State University conquer cancer at the Tee Off Against Cancer golf tournament Saturday, April 2. Proceeds will support K-State's Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research.

The four-person scramble, at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Milford, will have a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Registration is requested by Monday, March 28.

The tournament is hosted by K-State's Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, which has partnered with the cancer research center since 2007.

The registration fee of $50 per person for students and $60 per person for others includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental and a hamburger lunch. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and hole contest winners.

Sponsorships are being sought, and all sponsors receive special recognition.

Rolling Meadows Golf Course has been called one of the top places to play golf in Kansas by Golf Digest magazine. More information about the course is available at http://www.jcrollingmeadows.com.

People interested in participating should email Samantha Schuckman at sjs1110@k-state.edu.

K-State's Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research supports research, training and education of its more than 70 faculty researchers and their students, as well as public outreach.
