Wildcat Watch wins prestigious Telly Award

Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

Wildcat Watch has won the prestigious 2016 Bronze Telly Award for its production of "Wildcat Weekly, Episode Six."

This episode covered SGA Celebrates Week, K-State intramural sports, and KSDB’s "Classroom Series." Congratulations to students Meagan Miller, as producer/videographer/editor, and to Clarrisa Weers and Tana Akers as videographer/editors. Wildcat Watch, which is a project of the Division of Communications and Marketing, creates videos for and about the K-State student body. It is funded by the K-State Student Centered Tuition Enhancement Fund.

The Telly Awards were established and first given in 1978. These annual awards honor fine quality film and video productions, web commercials, videos and films, along with outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs. Both Silver and Bronze Tellys are awarded.

The K-State student winners are in excellent company. Previous winners include productions by Disney, ESPN, Jim Henson Productions and Discovery Channel. Many organizations have won Tellys, including the American Bar Association for its video of its celebration of the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta in 1215. Currently in its 37th year, the Tellys now receive nearly 12,000 entries per year from all 50 states and five continents.
