Therapeutic interventions for depression study

Submitted by Zenova Williams

Marriage and family therapy program researchers are looking for participants with symptoms of depression who are interested in therapy.

Those who meet the criteria for the study will be invited to five consecutive weeks of therapy sessions, with two sessions per week. Brain activity will be monitored through an electroencephalogram, or EEG, cap during these sessions at K-State's Family Center, in Campus Creek Complex.

Participants will receive therapy at no cost and $30 at the one month follow-up session. Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to receive either eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy.
