Submitted by Jeff Davis

Ten doctoral students and four faculty members from the hospitality management department in the College of Human Ecology attended the 21st annual Graduate Education and Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism, Jan. 6-9, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Overall, 251 presentations were made at this conference from numerous universities that offer graduate programs in hospitality management and tourism. K-State students gave five stand-up presentations as well as seven poster presentations at the conference.

Xiaoye Li, Chen-Wei Tao, Bongsug Chae, Han Wen and Junehee Kwon received the best paper award from the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology for "Investigating dining experiences at Chinese restaurants using user-generated content and topic modeling."

Kwon, associate professor and graduate program director, was recognized as one of 10 paper review track chairs and was one of four panel members discussing "Grant Writing and External Funding — The New Normal."
