Also, the College of Engineering is working on a proposal for selective admissions that will likely come before Academic Affairs next month.
  • Faculty Affairs: Senator Mindy Markham reported the committee continues to work diligently on revisions to Section C; they are now at Section C90 in their review. She also indicated they are still waiting for a response from the office of general counsel regarding possible handbook language which would address unique situations that may affect faculty, such as what occurred during the first home football game and the result thereafter to the faculty member.
  • Professional Staff Affairs (PSA): Senator Mary Anne Andrews reported that the committee will be having another meeting with the Faculty Senate's General University Caucus as they have found this to be beneficial. They will have representatives from Human Capital Services present. Discussion will surround ways that the committee can provide assistance to them in developing better orientation and training opportunities for professional staff. They will also receive information about the Job Analysis done by CBiz.
  • FSCOT: Senator Don Crawford reported on their recent meeting, which mainly focused on CANVAS.  Scantron Version 3 was reviewed. The process for entering grades is much improved. Various questions from senators were addressed.
  • FSCOUP: Senator Spencer Wood updated senators on the status of the recommendations for use of City/University funds. A final joint leadership meeting will be held this week before the recommendations are submitted to administration. At FSCOUP's last meeting Ronnie Grice and Jeff Morris were present and discussed campus security issues, including the lockdown that occurred this semester and concerns about concealed carry on campus in the future.
  • Student Senate: Senator Kurt Lockwood reported that the student senate did not meet last week. A survey from the Docking Institute regarding guns on campus has been sent to all students. Discussion ensued regarding a faculty/staff survey and when that might go forward. It is in the works.
