Open Enrollment deadline is near

Submitted by Human Capital Services - Benefits

Open enrollment, Oct. 1-31, is the time to make changes to your health plan, enroll in Flexible Spending Account, apply for HealthyKids, select your Health Savings Account contribution amount — if you desire to contribute more than the $600 per year minimum — and verify your coverage and dependents for 2016. All employees are highly encouraged to log into the Member Portal and change or verify their elections for 2016. The portal will close on Oct. 31 and no changes or elections may be made after that date.

Elections and changes made during the open enrollment period Oct. 1-31 become effective Jan. 1, 2016.

There are changes to both Plan A and Plan C for 2016. Please review the Health Care Booklet for 2016 to review rates and plan options.

To enroll, log into Employee Self Service and follow the path: Employee Self Service > Benefits > Health Insurance Enrollment. You will then need to sign in with your eID and password. You may also need to choose "Kansas State University" as your institution.

Please be sure to visit the open enrollment area on the Human Capital Services Website for more information.

Please save your confirmation of enrollment from the State Employee Health Plan. You are provided this document after your enrollment. Should you have any issues in 2016 with your coverage, this confirmation will allow you to have proof of your elections.

October also is open enrollment for Optional Group Life Insurance through Minnesota Life. During open enrollment, you can apply for guaranteed member, spouse and child coverage without answering health questions. If you are in the KPERS retirement system, follow the instructions on the KPERS website to enroll online. If you are in the Kansas Board of Regents, or KBOR, Retirement Plan or would prefer to enroll via a paper form, complete the Optional Group Life Enrollment Form and submit to the Minnesota Life Insurance company, contact information listed on the form.

See the KPERS Open Enrollment website for more information.

To review your current optional life insurance information log into HRIS Employee Self Service and follow the path: Employee Self Service > Benefits > Life Insurance

The Human Capital Services Benefits team will continue to communicate information during the open enrollment period. Be sure to watch for more information.
