Boren Awards representative visits K-State

Submitted by Jim Hohenbary

Hosted by Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships, Craig Frederickson from the National Security Education Program will present information about the Boren Scholarship and Fellowship for undergraduate students at 9 a.m. and for graduate students at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in the Konza Room of the K-State Student Union.

We will serve donuts and coffee. Students planning to study abroad in regions/countries other than Western Europe, Australia, Canada and New Zealand should especially consider attending.

As National Security Education Program initiatives, the Boren Awards provide study and research abroad funding to students who wish to focus on countries, languages and fields critical to U.S. national security, recognizing a broad definition that includes traditional concerns of protecting American well-being, as well as challenges of global society, such as sustainable development, environmental issues, disease, migration and economic competitiveness.
