Miller inducted into Kansas Broadcasting Hall of Fame

Submitted by Angela Powers

Monte Miller

The Miller family continues to add prestige to its namesake, the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications. The grandson of A.Q. Miller and alumnus of the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Monte Miller, was inducted into the 2015 Kansas Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

Miller also received Kansas Association of Broadcasters' highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award. This award is given annually for exemplary service to the community, state and broadcast industry. The awards were presented at the Kansas Association of Broadcasters’ convention Oct. 18 in Lawrence.

The Miller family has a long history with journalism at K-State. Five generations of Miller family members, including Monte Miller, his grandfather, father, siblings, uncles, sons and grandson have been educated in the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Monte Miller has maintained ties to the school for many years through financial support, as well as involvement in school activities. The Millers also actively recruit graduates from the program to become employees at Rocking M Media.

The Millers also have a relationship with the K-State Wildcat U.S. Army ROTC Battalion.
