Women's studies department is strengthening its collaboration with India

Faculty and Students at K.Gandhi College of Women

As part of an ongoing faculty exchange with India and supported by the women's studies department and Osmania University, in January 2012 Gabriela Diaz de Sabates, instructor of women's studies, presented two invited lectures in Hyderabad, India.

At Osmania University Diaz de Sabates delivered the paper "Women's Education and Its Importance for Social Advancement", and at Kasturba Gandhi College for Women she presented "Going to College: Stepping Stone for Social Justice and Community Leadership." Diaz de Sabates’s lecture presentations are also part of the results of a memorandum of agreement for faculty exchange signed between K-State and Osmania University. Her visit to India furthered institutional collaboration and as assisted with the final organization of the upcoming April 2012 visit of two faculty members from St. Ann’s College, which is affiliated with Osmania University.
